We walk along bridges to secret places. They are ancient pathways carved out by past generations, structural monuments conducting symphonies for our living dreams. This piece is painted on rag paper with deckled edges. It is varnished and will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know John & Elli

John and Elli are an artist duo who have been married for over 20 years. Beginning their collaboration in 2004, they have developed a creative process in which their individual styles complement one another. Elli works in mixed media, including collage, acrylic, and spray paint, to create dynamic textures and compositions. She makes a mess while she works, using many different materials at once. John, on the other hand, is very neat when he paints. He adds refined details in oil paint to each canvas. Though separate, John and Elli’s individual roles in the process are equal: “There is no hierarchy in this collaboration and it is an expression of a unified vision and 50/50 partnership. We are not competitive and we rely on each other’s unique abilities and skills to bring the best out of each painting.”
