Recently, I took the major step of buying a house. After a tumultuous few weeks of real-estate buying stress, I christened my new studio by creating this little lady, the newest edition to my ongoing Curly Girl series. I saw my studio as a new beginning, and decided to go back to basics by creating a painting simply for the fun of it. I hope the flowing lines and mix of teal, magenta and lemon conveys the carefree joy of its creation. Sometimes, its best to set aside everything and just create.
Sumner Crenshaw infuses her work with movement, lines and varying degrees of color. She currently lives in Maryland and finds inspiration in the work of Salvador Dali. Her goal is to keep exploring the minimalist, narrative surrealism she's been moving toward.
