A group of ingredients is a favorite subject of mine.  What delicious dish might these vegetables become?  I enjoyed painting all the lovely variations in the red colors of the onions on this painting.

This painting is done on gallery-wrapped canvas, the edges are painted white, and the painting is wired and ready to hang.

Getting to Know Ann

Ann’s artistic career has been an adventure in many styles of painting. She began with science and botanical illustration, followed by an exploration of portraiture and figure painting, and then pursued plein air landscape painting. Ann is now focusing on small impressionist still lifes, while continuing to experiment with landscapes and abstraction on the side. “My biggest obstacle as a painter is my fascination with doing new and different styles and media,” she says. “It is an ongoing struggle and adventure.” However, she has discovered pure joy in still life. The artist finds spending time with fresh fruit, vegetables, and flowers a treasured opportunity for true observation.
