Two people lovingly rest against each other in the grass, enjoying one another's presence and the warm afternoon sun. Rich palette of greens and sienna nicely contrasted with red and yellow and bits of blue. "Sharing lazy afternoons with someone you love inspired this piece," says Liz. "The fullness of their shared time is like the promise of spring."

Liz is a self-taught artist who is inspired by the graceful movement of the figure. She paints both from her own photographs and from life. One of her favorite subjects, the dancer, exemplifies a celebration of the female form and the artist’s personal love of ballet. Liz’s paintings are emotional and even raw, capturing each subject with active line- and brushwork. She does not assign an intended interpretation or narrative to her paintings; “I think that each viewer brings their own response to my art, and I don't care to 'mess' with their vision and experience.”
