A violet by a mossy stone
Half hidden from the eye!
—Fair as a star, when only one
Is shining in the sky.

If Wordsworth had only seen this painting, he may have bought it for the girl who inspired him to write this famous poem. Beauty sometimes dwells among the untrodden ways. This painting is about a flash of unexpected beauty, a zing of color, a sigh of satisfaction.  It's wired and ready to hang, with edges painted light warm gray.

Getting to Know Natalie

Natalie George has been an artist her entire life. A college semester in Italy introduced her to the tradition of realism. After mastering this classical style, she began to experiment with abstraction in her work. Natalie now paints heavily abstracted landscapes, combining unexpected colors to create interpretations of reflective bodies of water. Her work recalls both modernism and the gilded compositions of 20th Century Austrian painter Gustav Klimt. The artist’s process begins with visiting a location and shooting reference photographs, followed by sketches on paper, before finally turning to canvas. Natalie’s paintings reward the patient viewer, who will discover delicate horizon lines, trees, and fluid reflections within her hazy abstractions.
