The inspiration for this painting was a young woman that came to my art show dressed in a feather boa. I was struck by her style, confidence, and swagger. She happened to pose in a red metal sculptural chair. The painting is on gallery wrapped canvas with white edges. It is wired and ready to hang.

Liz is a self-taught artist who is inspired by the graceful movement of the figure. She paints both from her own photographs and from life. One of her favorite subjects, the dancer, exemplifies a celebration of the female form and the artist’s personal love of ballet. Liz’s paintings are emotional and even raw, capturing each subject with active line- and brushwork. She does not assign an intended interpretation or narrative to her paintings; “I think that each viewer brings their own response to my art, and I don't care to 'mess' with their vision and experience.”
