A single rose bloomed in my yard, and I tended to it very carefully because she was my first rose. Then I left home to travel, and I found a field full of roses–I realized roses were not the rare flower I thought they were. This piece is on canvas board and will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Jay

An award-winning computer graphic artist by trade, Jay recently began using oil painting as another way to explore his creativity. He consults professionally for the motion picture industry which requires travelling from his home base of Shanghai to Los Angeles, so he paints in both cities. That said, Jay’s work transcends time and place. His soft oils are studies of everyday life and uncomplicated beauty. Jay’s use of light and texture in the Impressionist tradition convey a pervasive sense of warmth in depicting simple comforts.
