I've been really wanting to do some traveling but it's not possible for me to get away right now, so I found a way to put my dreams on a canvas instead! I collaged pieces of a map that I carefully trimmed into the shape of the eggs. The strands of the nest are textured using acrylic gel medium.

This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Jennifer

Jennifer Ross grew up surrounded by the art of her mother and grandfather. Her attempt to follow in their footsteps presented detours, however, and she ended up working in art galleries selling other's work. But her desire to paint continued to grow throughout the years. In 2008, a gift certificate to a local art store turned into an epiphany when she decided to try painting. Jennifer found inspiration in a collection of antique prints of birds' nests and eggs by the English artist, F.O. Morris, and began to create an avian series. These paintings serve as symbolic family portraits of what we all hold dear - our home and loved ones. Today, she is often commissioned to paint various colored eggs representing patrons' family members.
