Everything Has Its Moment
About this artwork
An intricate collage of raw, painted, stained and burned reclaimed woods. Artist Heather Patterson collects her materials from abandoned barns in Maine to kitchen remodels in Massachusetts to a razed rectory built in 1893. When asked about the title of this artwork, she describes the piece as a new collective of movement. Each generation has thought their time in history the worst, the best, always an extreme of memory of the experience, explains Heather. But time is simply a moment, one that passes into the next carrying nothing but the judgment we place upon it.
