This is from my "Floating On Through" series and looks at the flotsam and jetsam of our oceans and what actually gets caught up in our waters. It's also a play on words with how much time we spend on the internet. It's a colorful piece full of details and movement.
Santa Cruz, California
Leslie grew up in the desert and all the while lusted after the ocean. Her work is strongly influenced by her obsession with water and love of swimming. Nautical and aquatic motifs dominate her various series. To create her compositions, Leslie sources vintage photographs from libraries and museum stock collections to collage into her art. Her combination of photography and painting is intended to represent memories and emotions, respectively. Leslie brings together a wry humor, childlike joy, and an undertone of feminism to remind of us times past and offer us a roadmap for the future. Now a resident of San Francisco, Leslie is surrounded by water in her life and work.

The piece is even more beautiful in person! We love our new painting. We feel so lucky to have it! It's in a prominent place in the house so we get to see it frequently and it's available for all our guests to see. What a cool piece.- S Robertson
I bought and just received "There's No Getting Over It." I love it and love your work. I can't explain why that particular piece spoke to me, but it did. I follow your work and plan to purchase more in the future. Such creative imagination. Thanks!- K Jensen
