The title is from a book written by Martin Luther King Jr. One of the central themes of the book's messages is that of hope. A map of the world was carefully cut into eggs shapes and collaged into the canvas. Each strand of the nest is raised up using acrylic gel medium so it is very textural.

Getting to Know Jennifer

Jennifer Ross grew up surrounded by the art of her mother and grandfather. Her attempt to follow in their footsteps presented detours, however, and she ended up working in art galleries selling other's work. But her desire to paint continued to grow throughout the years. In 2008, a gift certificate to a local art store turned into an epiphany when she decided to try painting. Jennifer found inspiration in a collection of antique prints of birds' nests and eggs by the English artist, F.O. Morris, and began to create an avian series. These paintings serve as symbolic family portraits of what we all hold dear - our home and loved ones. Today, she is often commissioned to paint various colored eggs representing patrons' family members.
