This piece was built using multiple layers of ultrachrome printed perforated vinyl to juxtapose images of a cloudy sky and a home blown down by a tornado. I took the photos of the clouds and broken house while on a trip this June chasing tornadoes through the midwest with severe weather meteorologists. The house is printed on the background layer of the work, which is cut into the shape of people holding umbrellas. The back layer has also been used to create a fabric like texture on some portions of the surface. This piece is highly reflective. The composition in the photograph is showing some reflection from the inside of my studio. The work itself will reflect the environment that it is in.
