This piece was inspired by my thoughts on the deterioration of the earth. However, it is not meant to be bleak. I wanted to highlight how surfaces that are aged and transformed can also be beautiful, neutralized, consistent, and fundamental. This mixed media piece is part of a series of large hyper-textured works. In physics, gravitational waves are ripples in the curvature of space and time, which propagates as waves. There is a tangible alien component in the artwork that offers a haptic quality to the final results. This mixed media work is made of raw cotton, canvas, bitumen, oil, acrylic, volcanic sand, and natural resin. It is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished edges and comes ready to hang.
