This painting is the continuation of my new series. The character is painted with small colored spots on a blue background and then added some dabs of ocher, red, white, green, and black. The character is floating in space near the moon, but the shape can also resemble a human cell. This artwork, composed of oil paint and modeling paste on gallery wrapped canvas, has finished black sides and comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Clemence

Initially everything is abstract, gestural and intuitive for Clemence Dubois. A shape becomes a bird, a fish, a flower or a character. Her paintings capture colors and shapes that words have yet to say. She says, “I want people to look at my paintings and observe my feelings for beauty in all forms and my joy of living that permeates my art.” Clemence likes to read, watch television, swim and travel. She also leads workshops in creative and figurative painting.
