Scroll over or click to zoom I have adopted a section of the scenic Sir Francis Drake Blvd. in Marin County, California to pick up all the trash left behind by tourists and residents. As I am cleaning up, I take photos along the way of the litter and turn them into paintings. All works from the SPLINTERED WISDOM series are created on paper mounted wood panels artfully painted & splashed with pure watercolors. The rich texture of the trees are created with collaged bits of images of bark and litter, as a gentle reminder that if we do not stop trashing the planet, trees will not grow from our garbage in the future. The overall result is an aesthetically alluring painting with a hidden message about protecting our forests. The artwork is varnished and the edges are natural wood. - Linda Klein Sticks and Stones LINDA KLEIN Watercolor, graphite, collage on wood One-of-a-kind Signed on front and back 2016 20" h x 24" w x 2" d 5 lbs. 0 oz. $875 SHIPS FREE ADD TO CART IN YOUR CART Add to Favorites Add to Registry Linda Klein San Anselmo, California Follow this Artist Unfollow this Artist Getting to Know Linda Linda Klein is an eco-conscious mixed media artist from California. She applies her passion for the environment to her work. “Many of my collaged tree pieces are created with bits of litter that I clean up off of scenic highways,” Linda says. “Each painting contributes to cleaning up our planet and turns ‘trash into trees.’” By repurposing litter as collage material, Linda dutifully reminds her viewers that recycling is key to a thriving future. The artist lives in Marin County, where she feels grateful to have inherited her mother-in-law’s large art studio that is always filled with light.
