This piece is about the ocean stewardship we all have but ended up reminding me of scuba diving in the tranquil Bahamas and the beautiful gradations of color that happens on the ocean floor. The word Grotto is like an oceanic diorama, a little scene underwater! This is a quadriptych (four separate panels).  They hang beautifully together with 2 inches in between.

Getting to Know Leslie

Leslie grew up in the desert and all the while lusted after the ocean. Her work is strongly influenced by her obsession with water and love of swimming. Nautical and aquatic motifs dominate her various series. To create her compositions, Leslie sources vintage photographs from libraries and museum stock collections to collage into her art. Her combination of photography and painting is intended to represent memories and emotions, respectively. Leslie brings together a wry humor, childlike joy, and an undertone of feminism to remind of us times past and offer us a roadmap for the future. Now a resident of San Francisco, Leslie is surrounded by water in her life and work.
