"OneLove" is an intimate, modern, abstract wall sculpture. The minimalist heart shape breaks down the idea of love into simple visual terms. However the concept of love, especially worldly love, can seem so distant in this day and age. Complex issues such as racism, bigotry, class, and terrorism dilute the fact that we are all on this planet together, as one human race. While the issues that trouble our world and make peace a distant idea are constant, I wanted to signify the concept of love by breaking it down to a simple form that shows while we can be different, (the heart is formed by combining 5 separate and unique pieces), there is still hope that we can come together as a unified whole. The work is finished on the sides and wired to hang.

Mixed media artist Scott Troxel has always been fascinated with modern art and design. He pursued filmmaking in college, and later went on to a career in industrial design and product development. He now works mostly with wood to create abstract wall sculptures. Scott’s process involves breaking down objects or emotions to their abstract forms. The hard-edged lines of his sculptures have a discernible visual connection to mid-century modern design. The architectural forms in each piece juxtapose materials and textures varying from raw and exposed to polished and finished. Scott’s work explores themes of old versus new, organic versus manmade, futuristic versus vintage. The inherent tension in the art is relieved by a harmonic sense of visual balance.

I purchased Zanzibar a few weeks ago and am really enjoying the painting - bright "grab you" colors and intensity pulled together into a cohesive but dramatic piece - a joy to view throughout the day and evenings when the painting takes on a more muted look. Have to say I like quite a few of Scott's pieces. Feel he is very talented fellow!- C Hubbard
