I watched these two old ladies stop have a chat for ages in the old streets of Gouda. People seem to have more time for that kind of thing there. This piece was made with acrylic, gouache, watercolor, pen, and ink on heavyweight paper and will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Hano

Over the course of his creative life, Hano has experimented with different styles, subjects, and media. For many years, he could never quite locate his signature style. “I was forever feeling like my artistic voice was on the tip of my tongue,” says the artist. “The defining moment in my life as an artist was finally feeling happy with the art I was creating.” Hano’s current body of work, which is primarily mixed media on paper, can be described as stylized realism with heavy graphic influences. He is inspired by comic books and graphic novels, but also interested in Impressionism and scenes of daily life, all of which come across in his work, at times simultaneously. Developing this portfolio has been a major source of motivation for Hano: “I have now found the path, finally. Now I need to walk it.”
