This painting depicts the view from one of Carole Moore's regular morning walks on Bernal Hill in San Francisco. From this vantage, she can see cargo ships in the bay. The artwork is part of her cargo ship series. In these pieces Carole embeds maps and guitar strings to show the music of our one world, and the exchange of ideas and materials that support our lives. "I'm reminded of the interconnectedness of our world, and can almost hear the music of the movement of the ships crossing oceans to other continents," Carole says.

Carole Moore works as a massage therapist and finds a lot of inspiration in her various clients. Art is something she needs to do - she feels irritated when she goes without painting for too long. Oftentimes, she sits on her feet while painting and does not notice they are asleep until she tries to get up. She enjoys spending time with her family, tending her garden and rock climbing. Carole currently lives in California, but was an exchange student in Mexico and Japan and was highly influenced by both cultures.
