This is a piece from my series, "State of Water United." It is a metaphor for the trouble we find ourselves in with caring for our waters, oceans and seas. This piece is a diptych comprised of oil, acrylic, collage, and graphite on two wood panels measuring 14x28 and 24x28 inches. The edges are natural wood grain and it comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Leslie

Leslie grew up in the desert and all the while lusted after the ocean. Her work is strongly influenced by her obsession with water and love of swimming. Nautical and aquatic motifs dominate her various series. To create her compositions, Leslie sources vintage photographs from libraries and museum stock collections to collage into her art. Her combination of photography and painting is intended to represent memories and emotions, respectively. Leslie brings together a wry humor, childlike joy, and an undertone of feminism to remind of us times past and offer us a roadmap for the future. Now a resident of San Francisco, Leslie is surrounded by water in her life and work.
