Amelia Furman

Artist Amelia Furman creates impressionist mixed-media pieces. “Through the layering of text, photographs, maps, and symbols, I bring forward the story of a place while using oil paint to express the transient nature of time,” says Amelia. While wanting to play it safe and work as a graphic designer and illustrator, her painting and drawing professors encouraged her to consider a fine art career. After college, her fellow artists in the Brandywine River Area in Philadelphia were highly influential in launching her professional art practice. Together with her husband, they built her studio on the lower level of their home. It functions as a family space and studio space for seamless working and living with two young boys. Amelia was presented with the Larimer County Artist of the Year award in 2019.
