I have been working with wasp imagery and this piece was inspired by wasps that dig into the ground for their homes. Above the wasp is a piece of an architectural drawing to show a connection between humans building and insects. The mixed media work includes old dictionary excerpts, handmade paper, an actual bug wing, pastels and charcoal. This piece is on illustration board and will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Libby

Libby Ramage infuses a playful and whimsical mood into her works. In fact, she credits the children she works with for greatly influencing her aesthetic. She often uses children’s abandoned work in her collages. Libby currently lives in New Jersey and finds inspiration in the work of Rauschenberg. She believes collectors should buy from the heart.
