The animal, figures, and objects were drawn in colored pencil and ink. They were cut out and glued onto a piece of bristol board that was painted green with acrylic paint. There is a 1.5" border, painted white, around the edge to allow for matting. While the whole piece measures 22.75"H x 19"W the actual area of the artwork measures 19.75"H x 16"W.

A layer of Modge Podge has been put over the whole image, to "seal" it. This gives the piece a glossy effect, which is not very visible in photographs.

This piece was inspired by my time spent in the desert over the past year. The brutalness and beauty of it.

This piece is on bristol board and will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Amber Flora

Bigger is better. For Amber Reid, the actions required to create large art are directly linked to the power of her pieces. She loves to create pieces that engulf the viewer. She draws inspiration from many feminists and performance artists of the 60s. To tell a story racked with emotion, Amber creates work with words and lines from her favorite books or songs.
