Artist Shellie Garber says this minimal abstract painting was inspired by the ballet, and time spent practicing at the ballet barre. Soft, neutral palette of pink, cream and gold gracefully arranged in a simple geometric space.
Artist Shellie Garber develops evocative and engaging abstract paintings with a modern sensibility. While her work holds a playful innocence, her minimal line work and complementary color palettes reveal a deeper emotional connection to her subjects. Growing up with an artist mother, Shellie was encouraged at a very young age with art supplies, however, she wasn't particularly pulled to create. She eventually studied nursing and became an RN. Today, Shellie uses painting to bring balance to her life as a registered nurse. She begins each piece scribbling and drawing, knowing that most of her initial marks will be covered up by subsequent layers until her vision comes to life. "All of my work is created as I go," explains Shellie. "It is a very spontaneous, organic process." Shellie's works has been shown in galleries in Oregon, Washington and Pennsylvania.
