About this artwork
Blue Topaz was inspired by the gemstone and blue roses. To create the piece, I ripped fabric into strips of various sizes. I dipped each strip into a high-end archival glue. Next, I formed each strip into a rose and placed it on canvas to create the clustered arrangement. The work can be easily cleaned with canned air.
Blue Topaz, the gemstone, and blue roses share a commonality. They both have a mystical and magical quality. The also have a peaceful and calming effect on emotions.
