"Vestal Virgins kept the sacred fire burning in the Temple of Vesta in ancient Rome," says artist Kathleen Cammarata. She depicts a graceful nude figure with an ornamental arrangement decorating her head. Utilizing charcoal and pens, Kathleen creates a monochromatic image with deep red accents. "This drawing is a contemporary interpretation of a liberated Vestal Virgin. Adorned in luscious fruit, she is tossing the apple of Eve aside."

Kathleen Cammarata

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Artist Kathleen Cammarata paints surrealistic dreamscapes with vibrant colors and dynamic textures. Kathleen's figurative work comes from the strong connection she has with her friends and family. "These representative figures showed up in my paintings one day with the message that connection is incredibly important, especially now," states Kathleen. Having feminine energy as her muse, a softness of familiarity radiates through the canvas. Kathleen has a custom-built, award winning gallery and studio in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. With her studio in the heart of an art capital, inspiration comes easily from the cultured environment. Her work has been showcased in the Boston Globe, Artscope Magazine, and Art New England Magazine.
