This is a self-portrait done on an unfinished, oval-shaped wood disc.

The style is looser and more textured than most of my portrait paintings, because I used acrylic paints rather than my usual favorite, oils.

A sawtooth hanger is attached to the back, making it ready and easy to display.

Getting to Know Amber

Bigger is better. For Amber Dixon, the actions required to create large art are directly linked to the power of her pieces. She loves to create pieces that engulf the viewer. She draws inspiration from many feminists and performance artists of the 60s. To tell a story racked with emotion, Amber creates work with words and lines from her favorite books or songs.
