This work is from my "Parallels" series and is inspired by my interest in parallel dimension theory. The system featured in this painting is an attempt to reveal invisible dimensions that exist parallel to ours, and the two halves of this diptych serve as reflections of those possible other dimensions.

In an effort to conserve materials, the 1/8" lines on the bottom painting are made of the tape peeled from the top painting. This piece is a diptych and the dimensions listed are for the piece when hung as shown. The two panels are not attached and can be configured in a variety of ways. The dimensions for a single panel are 18.5"x19.5"x1.5". These pieces are hand painted on cradled wood panels and come ready to hang.

Getting to Know Harry

Harry Sidebotham's paintings emulate natural systems of organization; math and science play a large role in his research and inspiration for creating new works. Although he mostly focuses on painting, Harry also makes sculpture, time-based, and performative work, and uses a wide range of materials.
