The inspiration for this piece grew out of my ceramic tile pieces. I love red and the way the colorful glaze melted and ran over the tiles when heated in the kiln. This piece has a high gloss like a ceramic tile.

The piece is on a cradled wood panel with finished black edges. It comes varnished and ready to hang.

Getting to Know Sally

Sally Adams recalls the moment she became a painter at the age of four; her love for art is innate and lifelong. Her intention is to extract beauty from everyday life. The advice of an art teacher, “less is more,” is one of Sally’s guiding principles. Her artwork brims with intimate simplicity and childlike joy. She enjoys simplifying and sweetening compositions from nature, such as trees and birds, painting only the core components necessary to convey an emotional connection. Sally has three grown daughters who are all active artists, and they work together whenever possible. “I taught them the joy of creating art when they were young,” says Sally, “and they taught me to do what I love for a living, by their own example, in adulthood.”
