This painting is from my GeoHorizon series of minimal abstract landscapes inspired by soil horizons. I gave the artwork two coats of satin varnish to protect it from UV rays and dust. It is signed on the front, and my signature, date, and title are on the back as well. The sides of the gallery wrapped canvas are painted black and it arrives wired to hang.

Getting to Know Lisa

Lisa Carney draws her inspiration from the earth’s layers and the history they hold. The drips, splashes, scrapes and scratches in her art happen spontaneously and come together to create a cohesive whole. She began to craft a more organic feel in her works after noticing the texture in her works resembled plant roots. She currently lives in Canada and admires artists like Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman.
