Allan P Friedlander
San Francisco, California

At first glance of Allan P Friedlander's work, one can see the free, painterly influence of artists such as Monet and van Gogh. However, he puts his own twist on the nature-themed scenes he creates, using highly choreographed color palettes and blurring the lines between impressionism and abstraction. For his most recent series, he traveled across the English countryside looking to capture the beauty and vibrance of the landscape. The resulting work flows with energy and the discovery of a grand road trip. He currently lives in San Francisco and paints full time.

Hi Frank, I can attach the saw tooth on the canvas board with no problem. Best Regards, Allan

Hi Allan- I really like your "Lion Grove Garden" artwork- and it is a perfect size for the sliver of a wall space where I will put it- I don't need a frame but could you afix one of those saw tooth devices so that I can hang it with just a nail? Please let me know by tomorrow if possible when the sale ends- Many thanks, Frank

Comments About This Piece

I was inspired to paint garden flowers after visiting many beautiful flower gardens all over the world.

This piece is on canvas board and will need a frame for display.

Acrylic painting

Acrylic paint was made commercially available in the 1950’s. Acrylic is a fast drying paint that can be diluted with water, but becomes water-resistant when dry. Acrylics can be applied in thin layers and washes to resemble watercolor paints, or they can be applied in thick layers, built up for texture. The main difference between oil and acrylic paint is the drying time. Oil dries slowly, allowing more time to blend colors and apply glazes. Artists who use acrylic paints typically work faster than those who use oils. Additionally, acrylics offer more versatility and are often used for mixed media work. Artists can mix different materials into the paint, such as sand or rice. They can also apply other media on top of the dried acrylic, such as pastel or pen.

Canvas board

Canvas board is a thin, flat panel of either particle board or cardboard wrapped in canvas. If not already framed, most canvas board work will require framing.

A one-of-a-kind artwork is a unique piece handmade by the artist. There is only one in existence. The work may be part of a series, however, the piece itself is unlike any other. This piece is available exclusively at UGallery.
