Keeping it simple – a constant goal – Inner Eye is one of my meditative paintings, featuring mostly grays and white with very limited color. I find it interesting that this painting seems to have a dialog with another painting, "Up from Under." They could live together very happily as a vertical diptych. This piece is on a gallery wrapped canvas and the painting continues around the sides. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Kathy

Born and raised in Chicago, Kathy Blankley Roman has been making art of one kind or another as far back as she can remember. Her preference for an earthy palette reflects a connection she felt as a child to the prehistoric cave art of Lascaux. With a background in calligraphy and illustration, Kathy’s art took an entirely new direction in 2010 when she started painting abstract work and studying with arts educator and author, Steven Aimone. Kathy’s paintings have appeared in juried and small group shows nationally and online.
