I love blues, turquoise, and aqua colors. I also love figurative work. I wanted her to blend into her surroundings, to seem like she was coming forward or coming into the light, finding herself after being lost for too long. Tired and ragged from the battle, she emerges, cleansed and full of spirit. This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Laura

It's the messy things in life that attract Laura Carter. In a literal sense, she enjoys making a mess with paint by using her hands and fingers in each work. She finds that most of her best work springs from difficult times. Her current work explores a range of emotions and facial expressions through portraits. In the end, she hopes that her art will "look and feel like an emotional story or journey." Fun fact: as an avid art collector, she has filled almost all the empty spaces on her walls.
