This painting is part of my GeoFlora series exploring abstract botanical landscapes. The painting is on a cradled wood panel with finished black edges. It is protected with a satin varnish that gives it a waxy look resembling encaustic. The piece comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Lisa

Lisa Carney draws her inspiration from the earth’s layers and the history they hold. The drips, splashes, scrapes and scratches in her art happen spontaneously and come together to create a cohesive whole. She began to craft a more organic feel in her works after noticing the texture in her works resembled plant roots. She currently lives in Canada and admires artists like Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman.
