This painting is from my GeoFlora series–a series of botanical and floral abstract paintings where I use drip and splash techniques to suggest plant life and sea corals. The piece was created with layers of acrylic paint in blue, moss green, lime green, khaki, ochre, and white.

This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished edges. It comes varnished and ready to hang.

Getting to Know Lisa

Lisa Carney draws her inspiration from the earth’s layers and the history they hold. The drips, splashes, scrapes and scratches in her art happen spontaneously and come together to create a cohesive whole. She began to craft a more organic feel in her works after noticing the texture in her works resembled plant roots. She currently lives in Canada and admires artists like Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman.
