This piece was inspired by the Northwest, where I spend my summers. I recently came upon the phrase "Dolce Far Niente" and thought about what it means, the sweetness of doing nothing. The texture, layers, and hints of metallic in this piece all add to a visual abstraction that is reminiscent of a place of relaxation. This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know DL

DL Watson creates semi-abstract paintings with floral and botanical references. Splitting her time between Florida and Oregon, she finds inspiration in the patterns that repeat themselves throughout the natural world. While her paintings are often grounded in her own childhood memories and past experiences, they evoke a beauty that is universal in their natural subject matter. She creates interest and intrigue through the color and movement that she uses to balance her composition.
