This abstracted figure painting is one of my favorites. Something about it really speaks to me. It has a dark feeling, a little bit gothic and a little bit whimsical. The tilt of her head and the overwhelming ladder shape that is so close but just out of reach reminds me of the feeling of trying to attain success and, sometimes, unreachable goals. The sides of the canvas are 3/4" thick and painted black. The artwork has been given two coats of semi-gloss varnish to protect it and bring out the vibrant colors. "Ambition" comes ready to hang.
