I was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, and spent many days at Duke University. Leaving the beautiful gardens on campus, I was struck by the light on the quad. I appreciated the irony of having a camera full of wonderful garden photos, yet the image that really captured my eye was one others may have found the most mundane. This is the largest canvas I have painted, but the size works so well for the scene. This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges. It comes ready to hang.
