Like a prize she was displayed, faint smile on shaky lips, her choices disappeared with the drawing of the curtains. On display, like a prize, she drew in a breath, all alone, her hand cupping hope and despair while shadows tugged at her frozen limbs. All alone, displayed and arranged she slowly vanished into the night.

This piece is on gallery wrapped canvas with painted sides and comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Laura

It's the messy things in life that attract Laura Carter. In a literal sense, she enjoys making a mess with paint by using her hands and fingers in each work. She finds that most of her best work springs from difficult times. Her current work explores a range of emotions and facial expressions through portraits. In the end, she hopes that her art will look and feel like an emotional story or journey.
