As I travelled under an elevated subway track in NYC, I saw a wonderful image for a painting unveil itself to me. The powerful canopy over my head was speaking to me. Its strength, energy and sound was empowering the street and everything else around it. The bridge seemed to take on the aspect of a living form that existed to guard the city. Under its protective covering, cars and pedestrians moved in many directions. Shafts of light poured through the breaks of the tracks, and created numerous shades of color below. The painting was produced with seven separate layers of paint creating a highly textured surface on the canvas.

This piece is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges. The work features a high gloss finish. It comes ready to hang.
