Artist Gwen Gunter says this piece is based on the passage of time viewed through a humorous lens. Various months playfully float in the middle of the picture plane over light beige numbers, and partially obscured by the bubbly blue form in the foreground. An abstract view of the quickly passing days and months.
A fascination with the division of space drives the work of Gwen Gunter. When approaching a new work, she uses both her intuition and a specific spatial vision. After creating a compositional sketch, she adds color and texture. Then she simply lets the painting guide her. Though she doesn't consider herself a huge science buff, she enjoys listening to physicists talk about quantum mechanics and string theory while she works.
