Different techniques were used to create this piece. No brushes were used, but instead, dripping paint and palette knives. Metallic gold paint was added to add richness to the shades of tangerine and black. This is a hardwood cradled panel with black edges and it is varnished and ready to hang. It reminds me of turning leaves in the fall.

Getting to Know DL

DL Watson creates semi-abstract paintings with floral and botanical references. Splitting her time between Florida and Oregon, she finds inspiration in the patterns that repeat themselves throughout the natural world. While her paintings are often grounded in her own childhood memories and past experiences, they evoke a beauty that is universal in their natural subject matter. She creates interest and intrigue through the color and movement that she uses to balance her composition.
