I am fascinated by the collection at the Wolfsonian Museum on Miami Beach. I did sketches of both the tea set and the chairs that I saw there and used them in putting together this picture. This piece is on a gallery wrapped canvas and the painting continues around the sides. The work comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Laura

Laura Robinson’s colorful, modernist compositions are inspired by her worldly travels. The bright palette seen in her current work is an homage to her time living in South America, and specifically her voyage back to her native Florida via the Caribbean. Her focus on architectural motifs draws from her experience living in Miami and the distinctive art deco cityscape of South Beach. Each work from Laura’s oeuvre is an eclectic compilation of the people and landscapes she’s encountered, and the resulting personal stories she’s accumulated.
