About
This
Artwork

This painting is part of an ongoing series in which Natasha Tayles abstracts the world around her. Her color palette and mark-making adjust to reference the seasons and even her different states of mind. "My references and inspirations come from observing what is around me - nature, places, kids at play, my good moods, feelings on a sunny day when life feels light as feather," says Natasha. "I might paint from photos that I took or from my imagination."

Natasha Tayles

Brooklyn, New York

Vibrant colors makes Natasha Tayles happy. She enjoys discovering new methods and techniques of painting and creativity. For her, art is an important form of self-expression. "It's about being in my own world where it feels free, fun, easy and enjoyable," she explains. She feels the most liberated when working in an abstract style and prefers everything bright and colorful.

Hi, Jennifer! It was meant to be displayed virtically, but if it fits your decor better it can be displayed horizontally as well. Thanks, Natasha.

Hi Natasha! I just bought "Meditation." Can it be hung horizontally or is it meant to be displayed vertically? Thanks! Jennifer

Hi, S Smith. The painting comes stretched already, edges of painting are painted so there would really be no need to frame it - just hang it on the nail. Thank you.

Hey there - I'm trying to get a feel for what this would cost to frame, as I presume it comes rolled up? What are generally the options for framing something like this (ie, stretched over a frame, or behind glass, etc)? I'd love to get a rough idea of the cost..... Thanks

This painting is even better than it appeared on the computer! The tiny touches of metallic paint were a nice surprise. Everyone that has seen it has had positive things to say. Everyone also has a different interpretation - my 5 year old daughter wondered if "those circles are abstract flower petals on the breeze"- seriously, any piece of art that grabs me like this and gets a Kindergartener really thinking is great!
