While taking a late summer walk on the California wetlands, I was intrigued by the mysterious shapes and colors of the grasses reflected in the waters. This is an abstract representation of the clouds and grasses as viewed in the protected inlet.

From childhood on, Dorothy was always eager about painting. Her grandfather encouraged her to graduate from a finger-painting enthusiast to a more mature and serious artist. Dorothy’s approach to her abstract artwork entails pouring paint in transparent layers to create sweeping colors across the canvas. Regardless, she manages to stay true to her childhood roots: “To this day, my clothes and hands always reflect the colors I am working with,” says Dorothy. “And I once again rediscovered the joys of finger-painting with my children!”
