About this artwork
This painting shows the mist in the morning where the Pines wake up, says artist Rebecca Klementovich. This gestural way of painting pines is heavily influenced from when I was dancing in New York. The movement of limbs and the movement of tree limbs are very similar. I am trying to capture the wind moving the trees in a subtle way. What a beautiful line of trees on the highest point of Monhegan Island Maine. Often referred to as 'softwoods,' conifers belong to the group of Pines found in New England.Ó
