About this artwork
Artist Jessica JH Roller paints her pet cat, Poppleton, with a striking color palette. I wanted to create that contrast between my cat's restful state with overly saturated colors, says Jessica. She chooses yellow and orange to represent sunlightÑher current favorite combination. I looked at my sleeping Poppleton, whited out my canvas, and then began to paint my companion whose calm slumber brought me peace at that moment.
