"The beauty of Iceland can be represented by its many waterfalls," says Faisal. "As the water crashes down, the mist constantly floats above. The Earth here is green, nourished by the water that flows and falls from the sky. Needless to say, Skogafoss was an experience to witness and cherish."
Morton Grove, Illinois
With great support from his parents, emerging artist Faisal Warsani began his painting career at a very young age. Starting in middle school and through high school, he took private lessons in his suburban Chicago neighborhood. Now, having recently graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from UT Austin, Faisal is enthusiastic about having even more time to focus on painting. “I feel like I'm just getting started, honestly,” he says modestly. Faisal spends his days working in his spotless home studio, always accompanied by music. His paintings begin with his own reference photos from trips to Hawaii, Iceland and the Caribbean. For Faisal, painting is a way to transport himself back to these exotic locales, where he says part of his soul belongs. Each piece carries a specific emotion, from optimism to even a little sadness, embedded within the soothing and precise vistas. “I don't think anyone realizes how many layers are on each painting,” he explains. “It takes me a long time to feel satisfied with the work- I repaint each piece until it feels right.” When he’s not painting, Faisal loves going to concerts or taking long drives with the windows down, listening to loud albeit moody music.

I adore this beautiful little piece of calmness! Faisal has managed to capture and paint the beauty of the water to the point that you can almost feel and hear the waves. Beautiful work!- T Kwatcher
