I paint intuitively from my heart, without a definite plan or use of reference photos. This black and white seascape is so much more than black and white!  There are subtle patinas throughout of yellow, mauve, blue, so soft you can hardly see them, but they add depth and movement that is hard to define.  The brushstrokes in this piece are very intuitive and painted with abandon.  A true expression of trusting the process – my favorite way to paint!  This painting is on gallery wrapped canvas and framed with a custom, high-quality black float frame.  The outside frame dimensions are 25x19x1.25.

Getting to Know Jenn

Jenn Williamson expertly evokes the scenery of British Columbia in her soft abstract landscapes. She utilizes defining horizontal and vertical strokes, coupled with a skillful handling of color, to create significant depth in each piece. Her paintings, though abstracted, clearly convey the atmospheric attributes of the scene–rain, wind, clouds, fog. Jenn’s muted color palette transports the viewer to the Canadian west coast, as if to be standing before the marshlands and ocean right alongside the artist.
