A live model was the inspiration for this painting. Feeling moved by her pose, I started with a basic line drawing using charcoal. I love drawing with charcoal because it is so forgiving, allowing me to quickly remove and change lines. After that my attention focused on layering color to create an emotionally moving and accessible piece.
